Cheer Parents

Building Confidence, Teamwork, and Spirit on the Sidelines

At Jr. Red Wolves Cheer, we believe parents are our most important partners. Your encouragement and involvement are the driving forces behind our athletes' growth and success. We are dedicated to creating a positive, respectful, and high-energy environment for all families.

We are dedicated to providing a respectful environment where young athletes can grow in both skill and character. We ask all parents to partner with us in this mission by adhering to our sideline conduct expectations. By pledging your support during the registration process, you help us create a championship-caliber experience—not just on the scoreboard, but in our community.

Important Information

Cheer Practice & Game Expectations

To ensure a safe and successful season, we ask that all cheer families adhere to the following:

  • Apparel: Athletes must wear comfortable, closed-toed athletic shoes and appropriate athletic clothing to all practices.

  • Warm-ups: Group warm-ups are mandatory before all activities to prevent injury. If a cheerleader is late, they must still complete a warm-up before joining the squad.

  • Uniform Care: We do not have "extra" uniform pieces. Please take excellent care of your gear. If a cheerleader is missing a required uniform item on game day, they may be required to sit out.

  • Game Day Conduct: Cheerleaders must remain with their squad at all times (including halftime). For safety, stunting is only permitted under the direct supervision of an RWJFA cheer coach.

  • Parent Boundaries: To keep our athletes focused, please do not interrupt coaches during practices or games. We also ask that parents refrain from talking to cheerleaders over the fence during games.

  • Positive Conduct: All athletes and parents are expected to maintain a respectful attitude. Foul language, unsportsmanlike behavior toward opposing teams, or any form of disrespect toward coaches and officials will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action.

Volunteer Requirements

RWJFA is a 100% volunteer-driven, non-profit organization. To ensure a safe and professional environment for our athletes, each family is required to contribute a minimum of four (4) volunteer hours per season.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Team Parent: Support your squad’s communication and needs for the full season.

  • Home Games: Announcer, Game Clock Management, Gate Attendant.

  • Away Games: Chain Crew (Down Markers & First Down Indicators).

  • Media: Team Videographer and Photographer.

2026 Program Updates

  • Flag Cheer Update: Please note that for the 2026 season, we will no longer offer a standalone Flag Cheer program.

Kindergarten and 1st-grade athletes are now invited to join our Rookies Cheer Team! To sign up, please use the tackle cheer registration link. Families should be aware that the practice schedule and overall time commitment for the Rookies squad differ from the previous flag program. Before registering, please review the updated schedule to ensure your athlete can meet the required practice days and hours.

Parent Code of Conduct

By registering, parents pledge to provide positive support and encouragement. We maintain a high standard for sideline conduct to ensure the focus remains on the kids.

As the parent or guardian of a Red Wolves Junior football or cheer participant, I hereby pledge to encourage and support our Red Wolves children by adhering to the following Parent Code of Conduct.

  • As the parent or guardian of a Red Wolves Junior football or cheer participant, I hereby pledge to encourage and support our Red Wolves children by adhering to the following Parent Code of Conduct.

  • I will always encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support of all coaches, players, and officials at every sports event, including practices.

  • I will place the emotional and physical well-being of our youth ahead of a personal desire to win.

  • I will support the coaches and officials working with our youth and promote a positive and enjoyable experience for all.

  • I will make every effort to ensure that my child arrives on time to all practices and games. I understand that tardiness impacts the entire team and may affect my child's playing time.

  • I will notify the coach if my child will be late to a scheduled event, including practice.

  • I will notify the coaching staff if my child will miss a scheduled event due to illness or other family/school obligation.

  • I understand that excused absences include: mandatory school function, illness, and serious injury. Players who have minor, non-debilitating injuries must attend practice to be eligible to play in that week's game, even if such injury prohibits participation in practice.

  • I will demand a sports environment for our youth that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.

  • I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, and officials with respect, regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.

  • I will help my child enjoy the Junior football experience by adhering to the values listed here and in the PCA Parent Pledge.

  • Every family must provide at least one volunteer to assist at games for a minimum of 4 hours each season. The 4 hour minimum commitment is only 4 hours total per family regardless of how many players are in your family.

  • I will set an example in personal conduct at all times, both on and off the field.

  • I understand that violation of this Code of Conduct will not be tolerated and that GEJFA and/or RWJFA will take appropriate action to remedy violations. Any violation of GEJFA or RWJFA rules and regulations is subject to disciplinary action including but not limited to verbal warnings, suspensions, or expulsion without eligibility of a refund.
